In Mykolaiv, more than 150,000 patients have already benefited from the government programme «Affordable Medicines», which allows them to receive medicines for free or with partial reimbursement. The programme covers the most common chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, and epilepsy.
Iryna Shamrai, head of the Mykolaiv Health Department, said this during a live broadcast on Facebook.
«About 150,000 patients living in Mykolaiv have used the «Affordable Medicines» programme to date, which is about one in three residents, if we take it in general. There are patients who use the programme regularly,» said Iryna Shamrai.
She said that thanks to this initiative, patients have become more systematic in their treatment, which has a positive impact on their health and reduces the number of complications. Medicines can be obtained at pharmacies that have a mark of participation in the programme, with an electronic prescription from a family doctor or a specialised doctor.
«The programme already includes about 500 medicines that can be obtained free of charge or with a small surcharge. This is especially true for those people who have chronic diseases: hypertension, diabetes, epilepsy, and many diseases related to cardiovascular diseases. Please do not hesitate if you have any chronic illness. Today, the state provides regular payment for the medicines you need to take on a regular basis,» added Iryna Shamrai.
Iryna Shamrai said that last year Mykolaiv received about 60 million hryvnias from the state for e-prescriptions.
Earlier it was reported that a renovated medical aid centre №2 was opened in Mykolaiv after renovation.
